At Weddington Christian Academy, we are committed to helping students use their artistic gifts for the glory of God.
Lower School students take art and music classes weekly. They have the opportunity to perform in our annual Talent Show, as well as Thanksgiving and Christmas performances for parents.
Our Upper School students have several opportunities to stretch their artistic wings:
- All middle and high school students (grades 6-10) are welcome to participate in the Praise Band, which leads worship during Wednesday morning Chapel. The Praise Band is directed by Mrs. Angela Barker.
- In April 2025, WCA presented its first annual student musical Annie Jr. We look forward to staging The Sound of Music: Youth Edition in spring 2026 under the direction of Mr. Brad Dieter. Students in grade 4-10 are invited to audition.
- This fall, WCA is proud to present the WCA Wings of Worship Choir, under the direction of Dr. Rob Ridgell, the Traditional Worship Music Minister at Weddington Methodist Church. Wings of Worship is open to students in grades 7 through 10. The choir will rehearse in the WMC Sanctuary on Wednesdays after school and perform at school, church, and community events.
