Every year Weddington Christian Academy children participate in school-wide service projects that benefit local ministries. Here are just a few:
COMMUNITY SHELTER OF UNION COUNTY
During our annual Week of Giving, students donate food and hygiene items to stock the food pantry at our local shelter. For more information on our Week of Giving, click HERE.
Operation Christmas Child
Each Christmas, in cooperation with Samaritan’s Purse, students fill shoe boxes with gifts for children who live in poverty-stricken countries.
Operation Sandwich
On Holy Thursday, WCA students make sandwiches for the Community Shelter of Union County and Roof Above to help feed the homeless in and around the Charlotte area.
Hurricane Helene Relief
Last fall, our students collaborated with the Cove Creek Christian School PTF to provide much-needed supplies to Appalachian areas impacted by Helene.
Thanksgiving Blessing Boxes
Last November, each classroom worked together to donate a complete Thanksgiving dinner (including turkey or ham) to be distributed to needy families by Mission Community Church.
