Learning Resource Teacher
Weddington Christian Academy is seeking a Learning Resource Teacher to join our team immediately. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to Christian education, work well within a team, and have a passion for shaping young lives. This position is open to interested full-time or part-time candidates.
Responsibilities:
• Design, implement, and monitor individualized support plans.
• Deliver targeted pull-out instruction in literacy, numeracy, or executive functioning.
• Adapt curriculum materials to meet diverse learning needs.
• Use evidence-based intervention strategies.
• Strong communication skills with colleagues, administration, and parents.
• Perform other duties as necessary.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) or equivalent teaching qualification
• One to two years of teaching experience (preferred but not mandatory)
• Passion for teaching and a commitment to student success
• Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs of diverse learners
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational skills

April-May Teaching Assistant
Weddington Christian Academy is seeking maternity leave coverage for our 1st grade assistant from Mid-April to May 2026. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to Christian education, work well within a team, and have a passion for shaping young lives.
An assistant will provide care for first grade students under the guidance of first grade teachers, by working closely with educators to develop age-appropriate programs that support the children’s cognitive, physical, social, and emotional development.
Some responsibilities of an assistant may include but is not limited to:
• helping teachers prepare lesson materials.
• setting up and organizing for lessons; tidying up after classes.
• working with students to ensure student comprehension.
• watching, recording and reporting student progress and maintaining student records.
• looking after children who are upset or unwell.
• leading classes under teacher’s supervision.
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• One to two years of teaching experience, preferably in early education
• Passion for teaching and a commitment to student success
• Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs of diverse learners
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational skills

• Christ-follower, as an active member of their local church
• Supportive and uplifting, encouraging our students
• Knowledge/Passion for teaching sports and a commitment to student growth

• Prior coaching experience is preferred
