Weddington Christian Academy is seeking High School Teachers to join our faculty as we expand the academy to include 10th grade in the fall of 2025. The ideal candidates will have a strong commitment to Christian education, work well within a team, and have a passion for shaping young lives. This is an opportunity to be part of the excitement of opening a new high school.
Positions Available:
• Part-Time High School Math Teacher (Algebra 1 and Geometry 1)
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in desired area with teaching experience
• Passion for teaching and a commitment to student success

Elementary School Teacher
Weddington Christian Academy is seeking an elementary school teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to Christian education, work well within a team, and have a passion for shaping young lives. This position is open to interested full-time candidates.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement curriculum that caters to diverse learning styles and abilities.
• Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and personal growth.
• Provide timely and constructive feedback to students to support their academic progress and personal development.
• Maintain robust communication with parents and colleagues.
• Perform other duties as necessary.

• One to two years of teaching experience (preferred but not mandatory)

Full-time Early Education Assistant
The Early Education Assistant will provide care for Junior Kindergarten and Kindergarten age children under the guidance of early childhood educators, by working closely with educators to develop age-appropriate programs that support the children’s cognitive, physical, social, and emotional development.
Some Responsibilities of the Early Education Assistant may include but is not limited to:
• helping teachers prepare lesson materials.
• setting up and organizing for lessons; tidying up after classes.
• working with students to ensure student comprehension.
• watching, recording and reporting student progress and maintaining student records.
• looking after children who are upset or unwell.
• leading classes under teacher’s supervision.
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• One to two years of teaching experience, preferably in early education
• Passion for teaching and a commitment to student success

Afterschool Team Member
Weddington Christian Academy seeks individuals to supervise the daily activities of the after-school program while providing care and guidance to WCA students (JK through 8th grade) who participate in the program. The ideal candidate will provide age-appropriate activities as directed by the After-School Program Director and exhibit God’s love and character to all participating students and families. This is a part-time hourly position that follows the ten-month school calendar.
Duties:
● Provide activities and programming for students, including games, crafts, playground time, etc.
● Assist and support students with homework assignments
● Prepare and serve snacks to children; keep snack and play areas clean after use
● Engage with students in arts, crafts, and other creative activities
● Escort children to playground and gym activities, and engage with them in these outings
● Manage and guide student behavior
● Follow school safety protocols and support a safe environment for student activities
● Communicate with parents and the After-School Director regarding student needs and progress
● Have a positive attitude of Christian service and enthusiasm, and model Christian principles and behavior to students and colleagues
● Additional duties as assigned by the After-School Director or the After-School Liaison
Qualifications:
● Committed follower of Jesus Christ reflecting a desire to serve Him and others in work and life
● Eager to serve in a Christian learning environment, modeling diligence, perseverance, resilience, patience, courage, and Christian discipleship
● Able to be flexible according to the differing needs of students
● Willingness to work with students in grades TK through 8th
● Positive attitude and a genuine love for and ability to connect with school youth
● Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally with students, parents, and faculty/staff
● Demonstrated ability to serve with initiative and pro-active approaches
● Able to sit and stand for long periods indoors and outdoors; ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and actively engage with children
This is a part-time position (Monday-Friday, 2:30-6 pm) during the school year (August-May 2025-2026).
Compensation is based on experience.
