Weddington Christian Academy is looking for educators to positively impact students and families in a Christian environment. Middle School Math Teacher
Position Title: Middle School Math Teacher
Reports to: Upper School Principal
Status: Part-time
Location: Weddington, North Carolina
Date: Begins August 2026
Position Summary: This position includes teaching one section each of 6th, 7th, and 8th Grade Math utilizing the i-Ready Classroom Mathematics curriculum. The schedule is Monday through Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and includes a daily planning period.
Responsibilities:
• Teach one section each of 6th, 7th, and 8th Grade Math using the i-Ready Classroom Mathematics curriculum.
• Maintain a classroom environment conducive to learning, personal growth, and Christian character development.
• Prepare and deliver engaging, standards-based instruction.
• Assess student progress and provide timely, constructive feedback to support academic growth.
• Maintain consistent communication with parents and colleagues.
• Work well within a collaborative team environment.
• Integrate biblical principles into instruction and classroom relationships.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Education, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Teaching certification preferred.
• One to two years of middle school teaching experience (preferred but not required).
• Passion for teaching and a commitment to student success.
• Ability to adapt instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational and classroom management skills.
• A personal commitment to Jesus Christ and agreement with the mission and philosophy of Weddington Christian Academy.

Afterschool Team Member
Weddington Christian Academy seeks individuals to supervise the daily activities of the after-school program while providing care and guidance to WCA students (JK through 8th grade) who participate in the program. The ideal candidate will provide age-appropriate activities as directed by the After-School Program Director and exhibit God’s love and character to all participating students and families. This is a part-time hourly position that follows the ten-month school calendar.
Duties:
● Provide activities and programming for students, including games, crafts, playground time, etc.
● Assist and support students with homework assignments
● Prepare and serve snacks to children; keep snack and play areas clean after use
● Engage with students in arts, crafts, and other creative activities
● Escort children to playground and gym activities, and engage with them in these outings
● Manage and guide student behavior
● Follow school safety protocols and support a safe environment for student activities
● Communicate with parents and the After-School Director regarding student needs and progress
● Have a positive attitude of Christian service and enthusiasm, and model Christian principles and behavior to students and colleagues
● Additional duties as assigned by the After-School Director or the After-School Liaison
Qualifications:
● Committed follower of Jesus Christ reflecting a desire to serve Him and others in work and life
● Eager to serve in a Christian learning environment, modeling diligence, perseverance, resilience, patience, courage, and Christian discipleship
● Able to be flexible according to the differing needs of students
● Willingness to work with students in grades TK through 8th
● Positive attitude and a genuine love for and ability to connect with school youth
● Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally with students, parents, and faculty/staff
● Demonstrated ability to serve with initiative and pro-active approaches
● Able to sit and stand for long periods indoors and outdoors; ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and actively engage with children
This is a part-time position (Monday-Friday, 2:30-6 pm) during the school year (August-May 2025-2026).
Compensation is based on experience.
