Life of Christ, a publication of Positive Action, guides students through the Gospel of John as they explore the live of Jesus through a carful study of his ministry. Students also learn how to apply eternal truths to their everyday lives as they develop a deeper relationship with Christ through this yearlong study. 

Literacy

Houghton Mifflin Journeys and Holt McDougal Literature include a wide variety of classic literary pieces that support critical thinking skills, language usage, research techniques, writing and media skills.

Grade-appropriate novels are selected to use in conjunction with the literature curriculum to improve reading fluency and enhance the appreciation of quality literature. 

Write Source is an engaging, user-friendly text that supports grammar, usage, and machanics. It also provides students with the foundational skills necessary to write quality reports, expository essays, journal entries, news stories, reviews, persuasive essays, and much more. 

Mathematics
The middle school math curriculum focuses on conceptual understanding, discussion and practice, and real-world problem solving.  Textbooks include the following titles.

Science 

Christian Schools International Science (CSI) curriculum is used in sixth, seventh, and eighth grades.  Science is presented from the Christian worldview with an emphasis on creation.  Hands-on activities, including science experiments, are the basis for the introduction and reinforcement of scientific concepts. The course of study includes Earth Science, Physical Science, and Life Science. 

Spanish 

McDougal Littlell, Avancemos, a Spanish curriculum designed for middle and high school students, is a learner-centered program that uses printed materials and online activities to assist students in learning the Spanish language. The program als intergrates cultural awareness within the content of the lessons. 

Social Studies
Sixth and seventh grade social studies texts focus on various world regions and cultures. The eighth grade textbook highlights events in United States history.  Textbooks include the following titles.

Lego Education  

Simple and Motorized Mechanisms allows students to build machines and robotics using LEGO EV3 robots.  The program provides students with opportunities to develop their creative thinking abilities to achieve goals related to science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). 

  • LEGO EV3 offers students use of cross-curricular STEM solutions to design, build, and program robots. This allows students to develop the skills needed to become 21st century learners. 

  • StoryStarter encourages student interest in reading and writing by paring literacy with technology.  Students use a wide variety of LEGO Education materials to build stories in conjunction with the StoryVisualizer software to write, publish, and print the stories they create.  The hands-on approach to writing allows students to plan stories, create appropriate scenes, develop characters, carry out plots, and add details.  The language arts program teaches students to express their thoughts and ideas in concrete ways that appeal to 21st century learners.

  • Simple Machines allow students to build machines and robotics using LEGO building materials. The program provides students with opportunities to use their creative energy and natural curiosity to solve problems related to science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
