Outreach
We feel fortunate at Weddington Christian Academy to be able to teach our children the example of Christ by helping those in need.
We are led to help minister to others by our Parent Teacher Fellowship Outreach Committee.
During the 2010-11 school year we participated in the Operation Christmas Child shoe box program and the collection of personal and Christmas items to be sent to soldiers serving our country overseas. For the 2011-12 school year, WCA will again participate in the collection of Operation Christmas Child boxes.
WCA has collected coins totalling over $600 for an orphanage called Good Shepard in Keyna, sponsored by Weddington United Methodist Church.
In the past we have participated in collecting items for the local WITH LOVE FROM JESUS ministry that serves thousands of people through their Food Pantry, Clothing Closet, Furniture Closet, Baby Ministry, Men’s Prison Ministry, Women’s Prison Ministry, and Homeless Ministry. Click the link below:
Many classes respond to immediate needs of our families and community members as we become aware of them. Some of these immediate needs have included soldiers serving in Iraq, a missionary family in Peru, help for cancer victims, and reaching out to those in grief.
It is important at WCA that we take opportunities offered to us to model Christ by caring for others.
