IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT NORTH CAROLINA AGE REQUIREMENT FOR ENTRANCE TO KINDERGARTEN: North Carolina has changed the age cutoff for entrance into Kindergarten from October 16 to August 31, beginning with the 2009-2010 school year. In order for our students to be on track for the new age requirement, WCA has changed it entrance requirements as follows:
K4 – Must turn 4 years old on or before August 31, 2010
Transitional Kindergarten - Must turn 5 years old on or before August 31, 2010
Kindergarten – Must turn 5 on or before August 31. 2010
Elementary first through fifth grades – must have successfully completed the previous grade level
