About WCA

Weddington Christian Academy began in the Fall of 2001 with a Kindergarten Class. Under the leadership of Mrs. Shana Stadler, WCA grew to include First through Fifth Grade.

In 2008 Weddington United Methodist Church under Senior Pastor, Dr. Terry Moore, voted to bring Weddington Christian Academy under the umbrella of the Church.  As a ministry of the Weddington United Methodist Church, WCA is able to fully connect students and families to the programs, missions, and ministry opportunities available in this growing vibrant Church. Together, we are stronger.

Mrs. Adell Keen began at WCA in 2009 as principal and Mrs. Bonnie Cave began in 2011 as Curriculum Coordinator. In the Fall of 2011 WCA moved into the Family Life Center and Youth Center buildings of WUMC. This facility change enabled WCA to add a lunch program, after school activities, sports, and cutting edge technology components.

Academically, WCA has chosen to implement curriculum that teaches to various learning styles, and challenges students to think in higher order thinking skills. Our Curriculum adheres to National Standards.

At the heart of our school is a staff dedicated to challenging students to reach their highest potential. Equally, we lead students and families to develop their Christian Faith walk and to in turn serve others as Christ taught us to do.

WCA currently serves approximately 130 students in Jr. K through Eight Grade.
